چکیده

Aims: The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety radiofrequency thermocoagulation (RFT) combined with pulsed (PRF) Gasserian ganglion in patients V2/V3 trigeminal neuralgia (TN).
Methods: We evaluated 27 V2/3 TN who had undergone RFT PRF ganglion. Patients were treated (42°C, 45 V, 20 ms, 120 s), (65°C, 60 (70°C, consecutively. Visual analogue scale (VAS) Barrow Neurological Institute Pain Intensity Scale (BNI) scores before after (1st month, 6th 12th month) procedure. A BNI score 1-3 considered as an effective treatment, while a 4 or 5 indicated unsuccessful treatment.
Results: VAS significantly lower than baseline values all post-treatment evaluation visits during 12-month follow-up period (p0.05).
Conclusion: Combined is safe therapeutic approach treatment TN. However, its partially decreases one year.

Efficacy and safety of continuous radiofrequency thermocoagulation plus pulsed radiofrequency for treatment of V1 trigeminal neuralgia

Patients may develop serious eye complications after continuous radiofrequency thermocoagulation (CRF) for V1 (ophthalmic division) trigeminal neuralgia (TN) at a higher temperature. Therefore, the temperature of clinical CRF for V1 TN has long been disputed, but there have few reports been found about how to achieve satisfactory pain relief, reduce the incidence rates of complications, and sho...

Comparison of nerve combing and percutaneous radiofrequency thermocoagulation in the treatment for idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia.

INTRODUCTION Idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia (ITN) is a common pain disease in elderly people. Many methods have been used to alleviate the pain of patients, but few studies in the literature have compared the effect of nerve combing and percutaneous radiofrequency thermocoagulation. OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to describe and evaluate the clinical outcome of idiopathic trigeminal...

The optimal radiofrequency temperature in radiofrequency thermocoagulation for idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia

OBJECTIVE Our previous study evaluated the effectiveness and safety of radiofrequency thermocoagulation (RFT) of trigeminal gasserian ganglion for idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia (ITN). The aim of this study was to evaluate the optimal radiofrequency temperature of computed tomography (CT)-guided RFT for treatment of ITN. METHODS A retrospective study of patients with ITN treated with a singl...
